Chicken Road Review
Chicken Road is an InOut Games instant game. A chicken crosses a road lane by lane, each lane raises your multiplier, and any lane can be the one where it gets fried. You can cash out after every step.
About the game
InOut describes the goal as getting the hen to the golden egg. In practice it's a step-by-step risk game: the further you go, the higher the payout and the higher the risk.
It is not a slot. There are no reels; every round is your own path across the road.
Chicken Road Features
Four difficulty levels
You choose Easy, Medium, Hard or Hardcore before the round. The level sets how many lanes there are and how much each step pays. Higher levels pay more per step but the chance of being fried on each step is higher.
| Level | Lanes | First five multipliers |
|---|---|---|
| Easy | 24 | 1.03×, 1.07×, 1.12×, 1.17×, 1.23× |
| Medium | 22 | 1.12×, 1.28×, 1.47×, 1.70×, 1.98× |
| Hard | 20 | 1.23×, 1.55×, 1.98×, 2.56×, 3.36× |
| Hardcore | 15 | 1.63×, 2.80×, 4.95×, 9.08×, 15.21× |
Cash out any time
After each safe step you can take the current multiplier or go on. This is the only decision in the game.
Provably fair
The game menu has provably fair settings, plus the game rules and your bet history. There is also an option to move forward with the space bar.
How to play
1. Set your bet (the demo has MIN, MAX and quick buttons for 2, 3, 8 and 20). 2. Choose the difficulty. 3. Press Play. 4. Move the chicken forward one lane at a time and cash out when you want to stop.
RTP and limits
InOut lists an RTP of 98%. In the demo the limits are a 0.01 USD minimum bet, 150 USD maximum bet and a 10,000 USD maximum win. Casinos can set other limits, so check the game rules before playing for money.
Which level to choose?
Easy pays small amounts on many steps; Hardcore pays 15.21× after only five lanes but fails much more often. The RTP is the same on every level, so the choice is about how you like to play, not about winning more.
Release
InOut released Chicken Road on 4 April 2024. It has since got many spin-offs, such as Chicken Road 2.
Chicken Road Pros and Cons
Strengths
- RTP of 98%
- You decide when to stop
- Four clear difficulty levels
- Short rounds
Limitations
- Easy to keep going one step too far
- Max win capped by the casino
Our Verdict
Chicken Road is simple and tense, and the 98% RTP is high for a casino game. The difficulty levels give it more choice than most crash games. As with any game where you decide when to stop, set a limit first.
