Sweet Bonanza Review
Sweet Bonanza is the sweet-shop slot that made Pragmatic Play's pay-anywhere format famous: fruit and candy tumble on a 6×5 grid, and the free spins bring multiplier bombs.
Pays anywhere
Matching symbols pay anywhere on the screen; the total number of a symbol at the end of a spin decides the win. Winning symbols vanish and new ones tumble in until no new win forms. Unusually for this family, Pragmatic Play rates it medium volatility.
Sweet Bonanza Features
Free spins
Four or more scatters award 10 free spins, and three or more during the round add 5.
Multiplier bombs
Multiplier symbols appear only in free spins and stay until the tumbling sequence ends. Each takes a value from 2× to 100×; at the end of the sequence their values are added together and multiply the sequence's win.
Ante bet and buy
An ante bet raises the cost by 25% and doubles the chance of free spins, but disables the buy. Otherwise free spins cost 100× the bet.
RTP and maximum win
The demo lists 96.49% and 96.60%, the higher figure belonging to one of the optional modes. The demo data doesn't state the win cap, so it isn't shown here. Sweet Bonanza 1000 is the higher-ceiling sequel.
Sweet Bonanza Pros and Cons
Strengths
- Medium volatility
- Easy to learn
- Big multipliers in free spins
Limitations
- No multipliers in the base game
- Max win not in the demo data
Our Verdict
Sweet Bonanza is the friendliest of the big pay-anywhere games: steadier than Gates of Olympus, with all the excitement saved for the free spins.
